This was a group project given to us as part of our course. We were tasked with designing an already well known book named 'Cautionary Tales For Children' written by Hilaire Belloc.

Mia Evans (Group leader), Ruby Kinch and I focused our time on the illustrations.
Daniel Wilson and Ollie Greenhead focused on Layout and Type.

Disclaimer: The writing within the book was written by Hillaire Belloc, not anyone from within this group project.
We started this project wanting to create illustrations that were unique, edgy and creepy. Our process involved 3 steps.
First, I would make the clay figures and back grounds. I would then send the photos I had taken of the clay work off to Ruby, who would define features and add definition using a biro pen. Those photos would then be sent to Mia who would edit them in adobe software, adding colour and making further enhancements.
The un-enhanced photos of my clay work feature at the end of this page.
Below this point are some of the photos of the clay work and character design I did on my own. These are the skeletons that then would be edited by Mia and Ruby.
